PostSubject: 5 Minute Choc. Mug Cake   Wed Aug 13, 2008 7:43 pm

I just got this in an e-mail. Haven't tried it yet so if any of you do, let me know how it turns out!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons cake flour(that¢s plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips(optional)
a small splash of vanilla
1 Coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.

Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips ( if using) and vanilla, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed.

Allow to cool a little and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?

Because now we are only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night !!!

It would be more dangerous if I liked chocolate cake better. However, it would probably work well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!

WELL, I was the guinea pig.. I tried it... not too shabby. I will recommend if you like sweeter chocolate to add the chocolate chips. It was good.. just wish I had thought of icing. I'm too lazy to be whipping up icing you guys are just too industrious sometime Wink

Either way... pretty good. I do love to bake and baking a mini cake in a matter of 5 minutes was pretty cool. Thinking of doing this for a cookout we're having tomorrow. Decorating the cake in the mug with icing and fun things... as mini desserts. (though it's a good chunk o' cake)

Thanks again LF Smile

I tried it without the choc. chips. I made it in a bowl that I sprayed with nonstick stuff. I'm glad I used a bowl because it made a lot more than the mug would have held. Also, it's a pain to stir it in a mug. I turned it off after 2 1/2 min. and really could have probably done it a little sooner. But it was good!
