For you smokers out there....

I got my mom an electronic cigarette last Sat. after seeing how well someone at work did with it. My hope was to get her to smoke less cigs as the price has gotten beyond ridiculous! And it's healthier. She loves it. I think she had one real cig. all day yest. And before that, a pack lasted her 4 days. It's basically a vaporizer that delivers nicotine, looks and feels like a cig and even blows "smoke" which is really water vapor. AND you can "smoke" it anywhere cause there's no tobacco. She loves it.

I got Chris one too. He liked it the first day but he didn't do well with it yesterday. I think he's just resistant to change and being stubborn.

The brand I got them was NJoy and the model was NPro. The Pilot station here has them for sale for $50.00. The refill cartridges last about 3 days, unless you're Chris and keep sucking on it every minute because it's cool. Men!

For now..I've commited myself to smoking outside only..have cut my smoking in 1/2 or better by doing that...so ..maybe I'll invest in one of these soon.. Whoo knows!

Maybe Erik should try one of these.... he's been trying to quit on and off too. Don't really have $50 to spend tho, so it will have to wait!

Well that's pretty cool. It probably helps with the tactile habit of smoking, having something to hold in your hand and what-not.

My aunt is on board and she's cut way down too. I think she smoked 4 cigs the first day she had it. I told mama not to worry about quitting but if she can cut it down it would help financially. She lit a cig yest. and put it out 1/2 way through smoking it because she said it was too strong. And both these women are 2-3 pack-a-day smokers.

Nicotine is the part of cigs that's so addictive and with the e-cig supplying it, I guess it satisfies you. At least that's what my mom said. My aunt told her she's not wanting cigs as bad either.

Nicotine isn't a carcinagen, though in high enough doses it is a poison. It's known to help prevent dementia. Personally, I don't think small amounts of nicotine aren't all that bad, so instead of quitting, for now, just switch to the healthier alternative. If you can switch to it completely and still want to quit, then you can get the lower nicotine level cartridges and taper down.
