I like candles, and I like candles in jars. What I don't like is the stupid sticker labels that never come off. If you ask me nothing detracts from the decor more than a big "Yankee Candle" label or whatever brand you happen to buy. So I was surfing Piper Classics, a country/prim decor site, when I found a candle hugger.

So easy, in fact, that I almost smacked myself for not having thought of it on my own. But anyway, it's a cute idea that I wanted to share with y'all. Enjoy the rest of the site too, while you're at it. The stuff they sell costs a pretty penny, but it never hurts to look.

YEah..seen those several months back and did the same thing you did..smacked myself!! They are cute, and would be easy enough to make!

And because Prim is all the rage..that's why it's so expensive! (thats why I do a smattering of prim, mixed with country..and make them both myself so I can keep the cost down!) I don't have near the stuff that most of these prim folks have, but I don't want an excess either!

The cure for stickers:

Orange oil. There's a product called "Goo Gone" that is made with orange oil. I use it a lot. Works more effectively than the alternative oil... that being the old stand by: olive oil.

Ah, I just always peeled the stickers off to the best of my ability and then used rubbing alcohol on the residue. It does work - kinda. I've heard of Goo Gone, but never used it. I have used a product called Un-do, which doesn't exactly work as well as the commercials would have you believe. Not being one to have much faith in "miracle products," I just assumed Goo Gone wouldn't live up to the hype either. I suppose I'll have to give it a try - I have some product stickers on some baby items that just didn't want to come off.
