Sampler has some pretty good stuff..you should see the mag! I get it..I'll have to bring a few up for you to see when I come up Lea....great ideas in it.
I do love the country prim look, but it's got to be not over junky for me..and some women can certianly take it too far, but if the right amount is done, it's looks so homey and comfortable....
I don't want to put the cart before the horse right now, but all decorating has pretty much stopped for me..momentarily at least.
And here's why.
Scott ..as you all know has been putting many resume's for work in the state of VA. NOT near home, but toward the mountain side and southern to midlands of VA. Well, he got a call the other day, from the GoodYear Factory in Danville VA. That's midland VA, but on the state line with NC.
We've done a little bit of looking via the net..it's semi rolling..not flat..and not too rolling. The temps are of course cooler..the housing is midline and there is plenty of room for growth and still 'farm' land available etc etc. Several big lakes, a river or two, and even a golf course that the company has.
He goes to take the test for the company the first week of August. He knows he'll pass the test, as it's the same test he's taken for every company since he's started looking (even the one he works for now) He never has a problem passing it..usually A'ces it. SO the test we are not worried about. Once the test is done, there will be a series of interviews, etc.
(I'm thinking positive here..so I'll say "WHEN") WHEN he gets offered the job, we ARE going to take it. It will put us in a hole, we know this going in. We do not know if our house will sell or not, but it will go up for sale. Thus the reason I am stopping major renovations and decorations until we know something.
Now, I may continue to paint a room here and there if I think it will improve the sale situation. I think the kitchen could use a paint job..that print wall board has got to go. If I do the kitchen, to rid myself and any future owners of the floral wallboard, I may as well do both the bathrooms to do the same as well. We'll see about that. I will leave the bedrooms as is..and may paint the living room a basic 'off white/beige' color to blend in with the already painted dinning room..and possibly painted kitchen. Either way....things could really be changing for us soon.
WHEN the job is in the bag as they say, we will begin packing away all personal items, and the house will be redied (fixed, repaired and emptied) for 'sale'..and show. I've watched enough shows to know what it takes, so no personal items in view. We will live like...bed and breakfast renters till the house sales. We'll of course work on some 'curb appeal'..although the yard does not look bad now.
Either way..that's the scoop..you guys are the first to know about it. I did tell Kat today....she's not real happy about it of course. Sorry Kat. The south is just not for us anymore, and more importantly ..Scott hates this job and is absolutely miserable.
So the only crafting I'll be doing will not be for personal use, but for gain..to sell on the shoppe!
(shhh..keep it under you hat....I don't want to jinx this possibility!)
